Blu Dot is a retail destination for modern home furnishings. To celebrate its impressive growth and success in the Los Angeles market, the furniture store made the big move to the design capital of LA – Beverly and Robertson.
Jeffrey Allsbrook and Silvia Kuhle of Standard Architecture were tasked with the challenge of updating an older building and creating an exterior that was as visually impressive on the outside as the modern furnishings that resided within. The goal was to showcase Blu Dot’s decidedly modern American aesthetic. The design solution selected was a stunning combination of glass and light that would create a dramatic effect guaranteed to captivate shoppers. Tempo’s C6RX exterior linear LED lighting was chosen because it features an integral line voltage power supply and is capable of delivering a nominal 460-910 lumens/ft at 5-10W/ft and comes with multiple optic packages. When nestled along the base of the vertical channel glass, the C6RX grazes up the panels to highlight the building’s striking new façade.
Now, Blu Dot’s stand-alone building illuminates the streets of West Hollywood and invites shoppers inside to experience the furniture label’s unique and modern vibe.
